چکیده
This paper is a ‘spiritual child’ of the 2005 lecture notes Kindergarten Quantum Mechanics Coecke (2005) [24], which showed how simple, pictorial extension Dirac notation allowed several quantum features to be easily expressed and derived, using language even kindergartner can understand. Central that approach was use pictures transformation rules understand derive theory computation. However, this left many wondering ‘where's beef?’ In other words, new capable producing results, or it simply an aesthetically pleasing way restate stuff we already know? The aim sequel say ‘here's beef!’, highlight some major results advocated in Mechanics, they are being applied tackle practical problems on real computers. Toward end, will focus mainly what has become Swiss army knife formalism: ZX-calculus, graphical tool for representing manipulating complex linear maps 2N dimensional space. First look at ideas behind comparing contrasting with usual circuit formalism. We then survey from past few years falling into three categories: (1) completeness (2) state-of-the-art optimisation commercial open-source compilers relying ZX, (3) ZX translating real-world like natural circuits run today's (very limited) hardware. also take title literally, outline ongoing experiment aiming show ZX-calculus enables children do cutting-edge computing stuff. If anything, would truly confirm ‘kindergarten mechanics’ wasn't just joke.

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Plugins
This position paper argues that browsers should be responsible for specifying and enforcing security policies for browser plugins. By enabling the browser to make security decisions on behalf of the plugin, browsers can significantly reduce the impact of plugin vulnerabilities and eliminate much of the risk posed by today’s plugin exploits. We propose policies for document access, persistent st...

Flash memory in Solid-State Disks (SSDs) has gained tremendous popularity in recent years. The performance and power benefits of SSDs are especially attractive for use in data centers, whose workloads are I/O intensive. However, the apparent limited write-endurance of flash memory has posed an impediment to the wide deployment of SSDs in data centers. Prior architecture and system level studies...
متن کاملThe Inevitable Ontological Commitment or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Ontology
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the application of Foundational Ontologies, i.e., formal ontological theories in the philosophical sense, for providing real-world semantics for conceptual modeling languages, and theoretically sound foundations and methodological guidelines for evaluating and improving the individual models produced using these languages. The lack of proper...

Swallow hard. If you are a neurology residency program director, plan to be one, or spend considerable amounts of time around one, you may feel that you are in for a rough ride over the next couple of years. New work hours restrictions imposed by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) have created significant strains on our system of providing neurologic education, lead...
